Community MinistriesSince its beginning, Viers Mill has been active in service to our community. Below are just some of the areas of community outreach in which we are active:
Randolph Hills Nursing Home: Ever since this fine facility first opened its doors in 1966, Viers Mill has served its residents by leading two worship services each week: on Sunday mornings at 11:00, and on Thursdays at noon. These services are led by our deacons and members, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Boy Scout Troop 220: We are proud to host this active and growing Scout Troop. We believe strongly in the message of scouting and its role in the development of the leaders of tomorrow. Troop 220 meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm. To register or for more information email bsatroop220@yahoo.com.
Cub Scout Pack 220: We are proud to announce a new pack starting at Viers Mill! Pack 220 will meet on Mondays at: 7:15pm. Boys from this Cub Scout Troop will promote into Boy Scout Troop 220, also held at Viers Mill. To register or for more information email bsatroop220@yahoo.com
Child Care Ministry: In 1971, Viers Mill started its child care center, offering quality care for preschoolers in a Christian environment. For more information, visit their page on this web site.
Narcotics Anonymous: meets at Viers Mill each Monday at 8:30pm. These meetings are closed to the public. For information contact Narcotics Anonymous at (202) 399-5316.
English As A Second Language: Now in its 9th year, a talented team of volunteers teach English free of charge. Over 150 students are enrolled in beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. Classes meet each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Classes are free, but there is a charge of approximately $15 for the textbook. Students should use the Havard Street Entrance. In addition, ESL Bible study is offered on Sunday mornings at 9:45am during the Sunday School hour. Classes do not meet in the summer (June, July & August). Registration for Fall classes will be held in September.
