About Us

In the fall of 1949, Viers Mill Village was a new and growing community of young families. Viers Mill Baptist Church was started to meet their needs. Over the years the community has changed, and so have we. The Viers Mill community is now one of the most ethnically diverse in the nation, with residents of all ages and races and languages. God has done great things in and through Viers Mill Baptist Church, and we expect Him to continue.
Our Vision Statement expresses well who we are, and what we are all about:

We envision Viers Mill Baptist as a vibrant church for all people,
where, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit:
God is worshiped;
The gospel of Jesus Christ is faithfully proclaimed
in our church, community and throughout the world;
Each person is encouraged to grow
in their Christian Faith and responsibilities;
And Unity, Christian Love, and effective communication prevail.

An important aspect of Viers Mill Baptist Church is our work with and support of new and growing congregations. Currently, we host 3 congregations in our building:

Fellowship Baptist Church – Rev. Emmanuel Jean-Phillipe, Pastor. This predominantly African-American congregation has met at our building since its inception in 1988. Its worship is in the African-American tradition. Office: 301-946-3282
Montgomery Chinese Baptist Mission –Rev. Jacob Ho, Pastor. Originally this congregation was started to minister to the Cantonese speaking population of the county, its worship is now conducted in both Cantonese and Mandarin. There is also an English language service for American born Chinese. Office: 301-942-0491 Website: http://www.mcbc-md.org

Viers Mill Spanish Baptist Church – Rev. Rolando Pérez Castillo. Vibrant worship and Bible study for Hispanic immigrants in the Wheaton and Rockville area.
